About

Our Mission

The Hamilton County Young Democrats is the premier Democratic youth organization in Hamilton County. Open to any Democrat who lives or goes to school in Hamilton County and has not yet reached the age of 36, HCYD currently has the largest number of members since its inception.

HCYD has earned the reputation of being one of the strongest, most active chapters in the state. At the 2008 Ohio Young Democrats State Conventions, Hamilton County won the Chapter of the Year Award.

The Hamilton County Young Democrats is made up of local young Democrats, as well as all of the local chapters of College Democrats and the High School Democrats, for which HCYD is the parent organization.

HCYD is the official youth arm of the Democratic Party within Hamilton County.  We strive to:

• Elect Democratic Candidates
• Encourage youth involvement in the Democratic Party
• Support the ideals of the Democratic Party at all levels of government
• Instill young people with the values for which the Democratic Party stands
• Provide young people with the skills and experience to lead our nation

Joining HCYD will present you with a unique opportunity to participate in the campaign and decision-making  process. Young Democrats receive first-hand experience in campaigns and elections, grassroots organizing, fundraising and candidate elective office, just to name a few. Many of the Democratic Party’s leaders got their start in politics with the Young Democrats!
